A Meeting of the Minds
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is an honor and a great pleasure to announce the International Plastic Surgery Congress-Sarajevo 2024. From September 19 to 22, 2024, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will become the epicenter of groundbreaking discussions and innovative ideas in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery.
Hosted by the Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons in BiH (UPREHBiH), this congress is a joint effort by ICOPLAST, ESPRAS, BAFPRAS, FELLOWS IN SCIENCE, and UPREHBIH.
While aesthetic surgery takes center stage, our discussions will span a number of critical topics including microsurgery, breast reconstruction, hand and nerve surgery, and the latest in cosmetic nonsurgical treatments. Our aim is to create a platform where global experts converge, sharing insights and experiences to propel our field forward. Discussing and assessing the clinical experience from world’s leading medical centres will provide the best solutions and progress in the Balkans and other regions from which the colleagues are coming from.
I want to emphasize that the Balkans have become a unique space in the medical sense, in terms of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Through organizations like BAFPRAS, we’ve fostered a culture of collaboration and knowledge exchange that now demands a global stage. This Congress stands as a testament of the progress made to-date, offering a unique opportunity for experts to unveil their latest breakthroughs, surgical strategies, and solutions to complex cases. I am especially proud that this Congress, unlike the previous 12 Balkan Congresses, will feature an ICOPLAST and ESPPRAS symposium. With a spotlight on complications and their remedies, we’re paving the way for transformative advancements in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
As Chair of the Organizing Committee and President of the Balkans Association of PRS and UPREHBIH, I see this gathering as more than just a conference; it’s a bridge between innovation and implementation. Together, we’ll ensure that the insights and methodologies shared here resonate far beyond Sarajevo, reaching patients across continents with enhanced care and expertise.
I look forward to welcoming all those who will attend the Congress in our beautiful Olympic City. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I can promise that this Congress will remain forever in your hearts.
Warm regards,
Prof. Dr. Reuf Karabeg
Congress President
